One of our biggest needs is a place to keep our dogs, cats, and even horses until we can find them a permanent home. Due to limited space at each of our locations, we rely on the generosity of our foster volunteers. If you have room for an animal of any kind in your home, it’s one of the best ways that you can volunteer.
Foster homes usually keep their animals for a period of a couple of weeks to a couple of months, until they are adopted. It’s easy - we pay for all of the animal’s veterinary costs and can assist with food. All you have to do is provide a loving temporary home!
Fostering is a very fulfilling way to help out. If you’ve thought about adopting a pet, but aren’t quite sure what breed is best for you, fostering is a wonderful way to try out different types of animals and determine whether they are suitable for your lifestyle.
You will have first right of refusal and can even help select a permanent home for your foster pet, although we will handle adopting the pet out.
If you think you’d be interested in fostering one of our homeless animals, please fill out our Foster Application and email or fax it to our foster coordinator, Susy Hopkins, at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
Save the life of a cat or dog, kitten or puppy by becoming a foster parent. Every new foster family means one more animal is rescued from the euthanasia list.

Questions You May Have
What are the needs of foster animals?
For cats and kittens, an extra room in the home is required so that
foster pets can be isolated from personal pets. A little extra time
each day to care for and play with the foster pet, so he or she is well
socialized when it’s time to move into a new adoptive home is all it
will take from you. Personal pets should all be current on vaccines and
all family members should approve of and agree too take a pet into the
home.
What does Circle L provide to foster parents?
Circle L offers detailed information and support for a positive,
educational experience. Circle L also provides any veterinary care
needed, including vaccinations, testing, medications, and spay/neuter
services. There is no cost to the foster. Fosters are asked to provide
lots of love and attention. We can assist with food if needed.
How long will the Circle L animal be in the foster’s home?
This depends on the age and circumstances of the foster pet chosen. The
animal may be with the foster from a few days to several months. We can
assist you in choosing an animal that will fit your specific needs,
abilities and time commitments.
What are the benefits of being a Circle L foster parent?
· A positive, educational experience.
· The satisfaction of knowing you are directly responsible for saving an animal’s life.
· The joy of raising kittens and puppies for a few weeks without the responsibility of a long-term commitment.
· The opportunity to work with your kids on a great family project that
is not only fun and educational, but teaches responsibility.
